WESTERN SLOPE WHISKEY CODE

The Western Slope Whiskey Club strives to create and maintain a community in which people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures are treated with respect. Our goal is to bring people together in the celebration of whiskey education and fellowship.

By attending our events and becoming a member, you are agreeing to our Code of Conduct:

You welcome ALL people to the Western Slope Whiskey Club. Discriminatory, hostile, or intimidating language or actions will never be tolerated, whether based on a member’s race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, education level, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, political belief, religion, or physical ability.

Whiskey lovers of all levels, whether a whiskey aficionado or a whiskey-curious beginner, are welcome. Strive to support everyone, no matter their place in their journey. Help and support others to learn on their whiskey journey and never judge or discourage them.

Be respectful of all whiskey brands and distillers, and understand the incredible amount of work and effort it takes to produce and distribute whiskey.

When a whiskey offering does not land well with your nose or palate, give critiques in a respectful and thoughtful manner.

During whiskey club events, please be mindful of whomever is presenting at our event. Feel free to have table conversations before and after the presentation, but please respect the brand representative(s) during their talk by giving them your full attention. When the presenter is not speaking, keep conversations about the whiskey being tasted in a hushed tone. Questions during an event are always welcome and encouraged. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

Show courtesy to all liquor store staff, restaurant staff, bar staff, and owners.

Conduct yourself respectfully on all social media outlets. The expectations in this Code of Conduct follow you to any social media site or group related to whiskey.

Always drink responsibly. This includes not drinking and driving. When you attend events, always have responsible transportation arranged.

Your actions reflect on the Western Slope Whiskey Club, the industry partnerships we have established, and all of our valued members.

As members, you do not make operational and/or business decisions for Western Slope Whiskey Club. You will not present our club as a decision maker or influencer to brands, distillers, wholesalers, and/or retail stores.

Members will never solicit any of the brand presenters or representatives at our events for personal, business or charity endeavors. They attend our events solely for the purpose of presenting and sharing their knowledge and whiskey with our members.

You must be at least 21 years of age to attend our events.

Failure to follow the Western Slope Whiskey Club Code of Conduct will result in actions taken up to and including removal and permanent ban from the Western Slope Whiskey Club with no refund.

Most of all, have fun, learn from each other and the brands that join us, and build long-lasting relationships with each other that extend even outside of whiskey club.
